I had a really nice time last night at the skeptics in the pub meeting. Then today I went to meet an old buddy from my (unfortunately discontinued) atheist club and we had a great lunch at this hot chicken place and we smoked some weed. On the bus on the way home there were these two women having this huge fight, I was trying not to listen but it seemed to be about one of them refusing to go to the hospital for some sort of treatment and when I got off one of them walked right into me. Then when I walked past the hospital, it's in the next block from my apt bldg, one of the women was yelling her head off to nobody right outside the door. Then when I was waiting to cross the street to get to my bldg this teenage boy made a very gross sexual comment to me. I just gave him a really dirty look and crossed the street. Then I had to go into the bldg through the front office because the front gates are still busted and they locked the office doors even though they weren't on their break so I had to bang on them. I made some comment about the lack of security with the gates messed up and the garage doors open all the time so anybody can get in the bldg and one of them told me they have security guards. I don't believe it but I was just too polite to say so and I just said I didn't see them. Then she tells me this one guy who works there who I really dislike because he's always rude to me came back (he'd been on vacation for a whole month) and I go "why are you telling me this?" which I then perceived might be considered rude (I was stoned, did I mention that?) so I go "I'm sorry, I mean I already know that, I saw the sign" (there was a sign up saying he'd come back) so I think I made that save OK and I don't think I'm going to get in trouble for that. Then that damn boy followed me in and tries to make this really fakie sounding apology. You should have seen this guy, he was like a better looking Butthead, I swear. I told him to take a hike. Then I went into my apt and watched movies.

I went to my favorite cafe earlier this afternoon and had a piece of coconut cake. They usually don't even have coconut cake so I was really happy.

Having some cardamom cinnamon tea. I feel like going to the movies again today but I've already seen Project Hail Mary (and it was awesome!) and there isn't anything else playing around I want to see. I miss the revival theaters. There used to be great revival theaters around here. There's this one bookstore I didn't get to on Indie Bookstore day, maybe they'll have something I want. I also need to call my mother for Mother's day.

One of the gates to my apt bldg is busted so any wingnut can get in. I'm feeling very nervous about this.
Had a great lunch with a friend of mine earlier this afternoon, we went to Chinatown and I had sweet and sour pork.

My stupid bldg managers have now decided they are not going to just let tenants in who have lost their keys anymore, now we have to call locksmiths. I hate them.

I did lots of grocery shopping then came home and watched TV and went swimming. Some lady bitched at me in the Trader Joe parking lot claiming I "walked right into her", bullshit, I was just walking near her. She probably expected me to walk further around her because she had a little kid, like the way people with babies and little kids just barge right out into moving traffic. You'd think having the kid would make them more careful. It has the opposite effect, like they think having a kid is some sort of superpower.

I'm doing laundry and some other cleaning up. I want to do major grocery shopping but no car, arthritis and rain are a bad combination, I hope at least the damn weather is better tomorrow because I'm running low on a LOT of things.

Had the greatest time in Texas with my family! We went to this great Mexican restaurant where I had brisket enchiladas and a coconut margarita, then the next day they took me to the Dallas Aquarium (it doesn't just have fish in it, it has birds and monkeys and a bunch of other animals and is more like a mini zoo) and this cool bar and grill owned by my sister's husband's friend where this really good Beatles cover band was playing! Then next day they gave me a Beatles themed party over at my sister and her husband's house with lots of people and I got a ton of presents and yummy food including homemade lasagna and chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing! Then when I got home yesterday I got together with a friend for drinks and dinner and we saw Project Hail Mary, it was great!
